Our Team

Dr Mustafa Hafiz

Ocura Medical Director

Dr. Hafiz graduated from The Australian National University Medical School and qualified as a specialist GP from the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2022. Dr. Hafiz is originally from New Zealand but now calls Australia home. Throughout his training, Dr. Hafiz worked in various Emergency Departments and enjoyed the busy, stressful, and yet rewarding work environment. Dr Hafiz balances his time between providing general practice medical care to the community, as well as urgent care to those who need medical attention but can skip the ED wait times. Throughout his career, particularly time spent in regional Australia, Dr. Hafiz has noted the immense pressure on hospital emergency departments due to poor systems and a lack of primary care-based treatment options. Patient experience is also poor due to long wait times and no continuity of care. Dr Hafiz is passionate about providing a community-based alternative for urgent care. Through Ocura Urgent Care patients will avoid unnecessary delays and receive quality care through one our experienced GPs, with comprehensive follow up. This will reduce the load on EDs, enabling timely treatment of more serious presentations.
